Experienced Dog Behaviorists
Through extensive experience gained over the years, working with thousands of dogs, we have helped people to understand how and why they have dogs with behavioural problems, as well as how to rehabilitate and prevent them in the future. Our techniques vary and cater to the individual and dog’s needs. In our experience, there is no dog that can’t be helped.

ADVICE
As well as 1:1 behavioural training, we can also help with the following:
When seeking advice, please consider if the behaviorist is helping you to address and change the behaviour of your dog, or is simply helping you 'cope' with your issues.
You should avoid trainers that teach you to avoid different situations, e.g. avoiding other dogs, feeding dogs separately, not giving your dogs' toys, etc. By doing this, the issue is still there, they are simply being avoided.
Raising a Puppy
We can help with:
Toilet Training, Biting, Separation Anxiety & preventing unwanted behaviours.
Play sessions work great for teaching your puppy how to socialise as they learn from older, already social dogs. Puppy only sessions and play dates can be detrimental to a dog's learning as they learn from other unsocialised dogs. This is where play sessions work for the better.
Behaviour Training
We can help with:
Aggression, Anxiety, Fear, Lead control & Over-excitement.
Pat truly can help you with any issue by making learning as simple as possible. Pat leads the way first to show you that it's possible and then coaches you to achieve the same.
Anxiety
Anxiety is often misdiagnosed as excitement and it is much more common in dogs than most people think.
We believe that excitement and anxiety are totally different, however, you cannot have excitement without anxiety. Were you excited to get a puppy? A new car? A first date? But were you not also anxious?
Fear
We teach you the fundamentals of how to get your dog over fears and how to boost their confidence. This process cannot be rushed or bribed to get their behaviours to change.
Aggression
Aggression comes in many forms, but often a dog isn't aggressive, but shows aggression because of something else. We identify the reasons and teach you what the triggers are and how to address them appropriately.
Lead Control
Lead control is the most common issue that we come across. We teach you how to direct your dog better. We don't force or bribe, but instead direct your dog so they work out how to walk better by themselves. Once a dog has worked something out for themselves, this learning stays with them forever.
Jumping
Often dogs can be seen jumping up on people, which can be undesired, especially when someone isn't familiar with the dog. This is another extremely common issue which we can help you with in just minutes.
Excitement
When a dog is over-excited, they're also anxious. As you'll learn, your dog isn't listening to anything you say. This is where we can show you where you've 'lost' your dog. We break everything down and continue further after you've seen the improvements.
Recall
In our training, we like to look at this as teaching subjects. For example: Maths, English, History - Recall, Lead Training, Reactivity. Each subject has different levels of education.
This is where learning recall at puppy training is the equivalent to primary school level of knowledge, which is why you may struggle with recall when there are distractions. We can help you with the higher levels of education necessary.
Choosing a Breed
A dog's breed is a guideline to how much energy they have. For example, Collies, Huskys and Spaniels are high energy dogs that need lots of exercise and time.
If these requirements are not met, the dog will look to drain their energy another way - such as destructive behaviour, barking, whining, pulling on the lead, aggression, etc. Remember, the breed is only a guideline and not a guarantee as to how the dog will be.

NOTE: With behavioural problems, it is impossible to rehabilitate by dealing with just one issue as there are many factors that contribute. For this reason, it is impossible to give rehabilitation advice by email or phone.
